PlanDone was selected by the 2008 Petaluma River Fest planning committee to assist in event coordination for volunteers in distributed locations. Many times the process of assigning tasks to volunteers is difficult because of their competing schedules and inability to make meetings. Too often, event committees must spend a portion of their time bringing everyone up to speed on the current status of the project and ask for reports on action items.

Now, with PlanDone, volunteers can work on their tasks and communicate accomplishments in sub-committees remotely in secure web workspaces which allows the central committee to move forward on key decisions even if the volunteer doesn't show up for the meeting. Unlike a phone or email to report status, PlanDone captures critical files, data, and sequential action step information which gives clear roles by date and expectations eliminating miscommunication.

The Petaluma River Fest will be held on August 10, 2008, and the scow schooner “The Alma,” Master Mariners and small watercraft group will be on display. Small watercraft races will be held in the turning basin downtown with live music and great food and beverages for a fun filled family event.

The River Fest event is part of a larger birthday celebration all year long as Petaluma turns 150 years old. To learn more about Petaluma, click here.
